The Grand Beach and the Seafront
Bordered by a magnificent south-facing bay, the The Great Beach of Sables-d'Olonne is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. Three kilometres long, it's ideal for family swimming, relaxing on the sand, or practising watersports (surfing, sailing, paddleboarding). Then take the famous Backfill, the pedestrian promenade that runs along the sea, to enjoy the café terraces, ice cream parlours and shops.

Take a walk along the quayside Port Olona, the large marina that welcomes Vendée Globe skippers, or discover the fishing port, which is always very lively. Don't miss the Central Market either to stock up on fresh fish and local Vendée produce.
