The Isle of Yeu
The wild pearl of the Atlantic
Located 17 km off the mainland, the Île d'Yeu is only accessible by boat. It is one of the wildest jewels of the Atlantic coast.
How do I get there? Embark on the fast ferries (shipping companies) from the pier at Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie (closest to the campsite in season) or from Fromentine. The crossing takes between 30 and 45 minutes.
To see, to do on the island: Upon arriving at Port-Joinville, the best way to visit the island is to rent a bike. Discover the wild coast, reminiscent of Brittany, with its rugged cliffs, visit the majestic Old Château fortified on its rocky spur, and lounge on the golden sandy beaches nestled in small coves to the south, such as Plage des Soux.
The Isle of Noirmoutier

Connected to the mainland, Noirmoutier is famous for its mild microclimate, pine-lined beaches and salt marshes that cover a third of its territory.
A mythical passage: The Passage du Gois
You can reach Noirmoutier by the free bridge (open 24/7), but the ultimate experience is to cross via the Passage du Gois. This unique 4.1 km submersible road in the world can only be discovered at low tide. Caution: It is imperative to check the tide times before setting off to cross safely! It is also an unmissable paradise for rock pooling enthusiasts.
